1. Definition
Adhesive tape, commonly known as tape, is made by evenly coating an adhesive onto various types of base materials and processing them into a ribbon-like form, then supplied in rolls.
It mainly consists of three parts: the base material, the adhesive, and the release paper (film).
2. Classification
The types of tapes are diverse. Based on the type of adhesive, they can be divided into water-based tapes, oil-based tapes, solvent-based tapes, hot-melt tapes, and natural rubber tapes, etc.; according to their efficacy, they can be categorized into high-temperature resistant tapes, double-sided tapes, insulating tapes, special-purpose tapes, etc.; based on the type of base material, they can be classified into cloth-based tapes, paper-based tapes, and film-based tapes, etc.
